by Aleksandar Urdarevik on August 30, 2021

Last night’s bout between Jake Paul and Tyron Woodley sure was one for the books.

After 8 exciting rounds, Paul was declared the winner by split decision, putting his record at 4-0. The loss officially puts Woodley’s boxing record at 0-1, marking the first loss of his boxing career.

Two of the judges gave the win to Paul with scores of 77-75 and 78-74, and the other judge gave the win to Woodley, with a score of 77-75.

Woodley was able to land a right hand in the fourth round, but ultimately it wasn’t enough for the former UFC champion to take home the win.

Following the bout, Paul spoke on the fight and Woodley as an opponent, saying in the post-fight interview, “He’s a tough opponent. He’s been fighting for 20-something years. I’ve been doing this for 3 years. It was a tougher fight than I expected.”

Woodley, however, felt like he won and is looking ahead to a rematch with Paul, “F- the Fury fight, I want a rematch.”

Among the other wins last night:

  • Amanda Serrano was victorious over Yamileth Mercado by unanimous decision
  • Daniel Dubois took the win against Jose Cusumano with a TKO in the first round
  • Montana Love declarer the winner when Ivan Baranchyk retired after the 7th round
  • Tommy Fury defeated Anthony Taylor by unanimous decision

Did you agree with the judges scoring? Do you think Woodley has a shot at the win in a rematch?
