UFC 265 took place Sunday night in Houston, where the matchup between Ciryl Gane and Derrick Lewis was one for the books.
French heavyweight fighter Gane gained the advantage over Lewis and was declared the winner with a third-round TKO. Happening at the 4:11 mark in round three, this win solidifies Gane as the new heavyweight champion of the UFC.
While this proves a tough loss for Lewis, who had hoped to bring the belt back to his hometown, Gane already has a bout lined up with a former sparring partner of his.
Ciryl Gane and fellow heavyweight fighter Francis Ngannou will meet for a unification bout in a bid to see who will ultimately take the title.
This puts Gane’s record at 10-0-0, with Lewis’ loss putting his record at 25-8-0.
Who do you think will win in the inevitable Gane vs. Ngannou matchup?
